Ashling announces availability of an integrated Code Execution Profiling Tool for Arm and RISC-V based applications within Ashling’s RiscFree™ IDE and Debug solution.
Execution Profiling is a critical tool enabling optimisation and speed improvements in embedded applications. The tools allow developers to determine where the application computing time is spent, allowing them to focus their optimisation and performance-improvement efforts on the program areas which will deliver the most return.
The profiling display within RiscFree™ provides developers with a histogram showing total execution time for individual profiled functions. The call-graph display provides information on how many times individual functions were called and from where. These tools provide developers with a powerful mechanism to ensure the code is executing as efficiently as possible.
RiscFree™ IDE, Ashling’s professional, commercial-grade software development environment, includes support for embedded 32-bit and 64-bit Arm and RISC-V devices. The Eclipse-based IDE provides a seamless environment for development—from writing and building code to simulating and hardware debugging.
