12/04/2018 » Announcing Ashling RiscFree™ Toolchain for RISC-V

RISC-V Summit, Santa Clara, CA – December 4th, 2018.

Ashling (a subsidiary of the NeST Group) announced the market release of its latest embedded tools technologies supporting the RISC-V user base: Ashling RiscFree™ C/C++ for RISC-V. This is a fully integrated development environment which includes an IDE, compiler, debugger, and a JTAG probe ready to use with most RISC-V cores.

“We are happy to introduce the first commercially supported toolset for RISC-V backed by a full service offering to enable any custom ISA extensions to RISC-V cores.” – Guy Rabbat, President and CEO of Ashling.

Ashling is fully committed to RISC-V and is expanding and adapting its offerings to all aspects of the ecosystem, based on its extensive experience of the last 25 years and its customers’ requirements. As RISC-V products become more widespread and the RISC-V ecosystem continues to expand, Ashling aims to help drive its growth from novelty to ubiquity.

The RiscFree™ Toolchain comes with out-of-the-box support for SiFive’s RISC-V Core IP products. It supports the HiFive Unleashed development board and FPGA-based Core IP evaluation platforms with ready-to-use projects.

“As we see strong growth in the adoption of RISC-V across our Core Series products, we are excited to see Ashling’s development tools added to the RISC-V ecosystem and supporting SiFive’s RISC-V based Core IP products.” – Jack Kang, VP of Product Marketing, SiFive.

Ashling’s RiscFree™ tools offering also includes the popular Opella for RISC-V Debug Probe and is compatible with other JTAG probes in the market. Ashling is expanding its cross-compiler development team to offer embedded tools customization for any RISC-V ISA extensions.
